Our Story
Zoe Pope established Hamilton Psychology after moving from Canberra with her young family in 2021. The vision was to create a family-friendly service dedicated to improving the mental health of children and young people through creative and nature based interventions.

Prior to relocating to Hamilton, Zoe operated a similar service in NSW, where she paired psychological therapies with equine assisted learning. Hamilton Psychology is akin to this former service in terms of expanding to incorporate additional forms of nature based practices where appropriate.

Hamilton Psychology draws on traditional and evidenced based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and applies them to hands on experience with:

- a range of natural elements found outdoors
- paper, pens and other pops of color and crafting materials
- sensory modulation - offering opportunities for enriched sense of smell, sight, sound, touch and taste
- powerful metaphors gained through paralleling nature-based phenomena with everyday occurrences

The Service values open communication with GP's and any other health providers involved in a person’s care. Clinicians work in line in with privacy and consent provisions.
